CDJA Bursary Fund

The CDJA Bursary is designed to aid a student in their quest to further their education beyond secondary school. The intent is to support post-secondary education at a University, Technical College school level.

The applicant should be a full-time student and enrolled or approved for enrollment at a post-secondary institution. The applicant would have been involved in the sport of purebred dogs for a minimum of two (2) years, whether it be Conformation or Performance Events as sanctioned by the Canadian Kennel Club.

In addition, the applicant will be expected to provide to the Committee the following:

  1. Approved/received registration form at a University or Technical College
  2. Academic transcript from previous institution where applicable
  3. Two letters of reference attesting to skills and abilities from
    • Teachers
    • Member of the dog community or
    • an individual who has known the applicant for a minimum of two years.
  4. An essay no longer that 500 words indicating your suitability for this Bursary. Include an explanation of what makes you a worthy candidate along with your career aspirations and future plans.

Currently the Bursary is $1,000. Deadline for submission is August 31st in the year of the application.
